This course focuses upon developing the key document in the acquisition process - a statement of work (SOW) and stresses legal do's and don'ts as well as procedures and steps for developing clear, complete, and concise SOW's for new acquisitions and task orders.
- Identify their role, responsibilities, and teaming arrangements in developing SOW's
- Understand the consequences of deficient SOW's
- Apply step -by-step procedures to capture to SOW information including the POWER approach, task breakdown analysis, and activity analysis
- Specify deliverables including hardware, software, technical data, documents and reprots
- Define performance measures
- Link performance measures to monetary and non-monetary incentives
- Prepare a performance requirements summary
- Develop a quality assurance surveillance plan
- Identify and describe Government-furnished property and information
- Include, where appropriate, submittal requirements applicable to contractor work plans, schedules and personnel
- Format SOW information and adapt the style to the informational component
- Perform comprehensive and effective review of a SOW
