OM will be hosting a one-day acquisitions overview training course for CTP Executives and Senior Leaders; this course is now open to all CTP Supervisors and Managers on a first come first serve basis. The class is designed to provide a broad understanding of the federal acquisition process, roles of key stakeholders through pre- and post-award, and strategies for mitigating common risks in contracting targeted to meet CTP’s mission. The course is part of CTP’s comprehensive efforts to implement internal controls and mitigate risk, and serves as a developmental tool for CTP leadership to improve overall effectiveness of the acquisition process and enhance tobacco user fee oversight.
This course is encouraged for those with extensive involvement in acquisitions to sign up for one of the course dates. The training objectives and information on the approved continuous learning points are highlighted below.
Continuous Learning Points (CLPs)
AAT will provide certificates of completion approximately two (2)
weeks after each training session. The certificate can be uploaded to FAITAS to
count towards FAC-COR recertification as applicable. The training is approved
by OAGS for 8 Continuous Learning Points (CLP) credit requirements for
maintaining FAC-COR certifications if required.
Training Objectives
• Enable CTP Leadership to better manage acquisition programs to meet the mission of CTP through increased understanding of the federal acquisition process and lifecycle including planning, development, and execution phases.
• Enable CTP leadership to provide proper direction on programs and expectations to CORs during the execution phase of the acquisition lifecycle in accordance with federal acquisition policies.
• Increase CTP leadership understanding of the policies, roles, and responsibilities around contract administration and contractor engagement to minimize risk to FDA
