It’s important that staff engaged in scientific decision-making at FDA be familiar with the policies addressing scientific disagreements. Like the rules of the road for anyone who drives a car, our scientists should be familiar with the SDR policies.

More broadly, though, our effectiveness as an agency requires that we routinely resolve complicated scientific issues on a day-to-day basis, and so it’s important to remind ourselves what we expect of each other when it comes to scientific discussion and disagreement.

Taking a few minutes to remind ourselves how difficult scientific decisions should be handled helps remind us what we value as an agency and also helps us to improve that process as we move forward.

As one of FDA’s newer centers, it’s particularly important for CTP to establish these aspirations as it continues to grow, change, and improve.

The purpose of this course is to make sure we are on the same page about administrative policies, to provide updates about new policies and procedures, and to give resources so you can find answers to common questions.

The topics we will cover in this course include:

  • Timekeeping
  • Hybrid Workplace Model
  • Travel
  • PMAP and Recognition
  • Clearance
  • Other annual reminders
